It's not so difficult to forgive someone who hurt you, but when they have injured people you love such as your family, an instinctive protective feeling towards those people arises, and that makes it very difficult to forgive.

There is a man who has done immense damage to the reputations of myself and my brother, which has affected my brother's career. He has also put my mother in a very difficult financial position. He is unremorseful and still has ongoing relationships with members of my family and some of my friends. In other words, he is still very much in my life.

When an injury is in the past and you're removed from the situation, it's a lot easier. Know what I mean?
