Dear Rev.
I need to ask your spiritual expertise in the area of God's forgiveness. I know of some people who claim to be Christians, yet are involved in adulterous affairs. A few of them "rationalize" their behavior by saying, "we're only human," "no one is perfect," "we ask God's forgiveness," etc, etc, and expect this to be "ok." My question is, if a person continues to repeat the same sin over and over, will God still forgive them when they are finally finished? Because it seems to me that it would be the same as someone saying, "well after I kill my enemies, then I will just ask God's forgiveness and really mean it." Or, someone partying all night long on Saturday and saying they will "repent" on Sunday by going to church, only to return to the party life again on the following Saturday night.
What are your thoughts on this?
